Just wanted to show how much power a TRI SLI setup with GTX 470's uses under 100% load. Test was done using Furmark 1.8 CPU is a Core i7 930 @ 4.4ghz GPU's are EVGA GTX 470 SC's @ 900core/1970mem @ 1.212v Added: I wanted to provide further clarification about this max power draw. Some things that need to be noted. The Silverstone Strider Plus 1000W PSU is 80+ Silver rated so we need to factor in the 85% efficiency. The Killa Watt is within 2% of accuracy as well. We are using two of these, so thats another 4% taken from the total efficiency thus far. Also, the review done by JonnyGuru stated this PSU is barely capable of 80+ Silver. So based on his tests around the load I am putting on each of these PSU's, they are really operating around 84% Efficiency. So taken everything into consideration, we need to factor in a 80% efficiency. PSU #1 is only powering: MOBO, GPUx3 "12V RAILS". PSU #2 is powering: Pumps, Fans, HDD's, Optical Drives, and GPUx3 "12V RAILS". PSU #1 idled around 220W. PSU #2 idled around 290W. PSU #1 pulled 950W according to Killa Watt. PSU #2 pulled 820W according to Killa Watt. The difference of the idle and load combining both PSU's leaves us with 1260W. Then factor in the 80% efficiency, which leaves us with 1008W. Now get rid of 150W from the CPU, leaves us with 858W approximate usage from the 3 GPU's. Divide that by 3 to give an approximate usage from each GPU, which gives us 286W. Now I am approximating all these numbers and obviously things aren't ...
